The 5th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) is being held in south China's island province of Hainan from April 13 to 18. The expo has an eco-friendly theme and two mascots, "Yuanyuan" and "Xiaoxiao," inspired by Hainan gibbons.

Hainan boasts the country's largest expanse of primeval rainforest, home to many rare and endangered species, including the Hainan gibbon, known as the world's rarest primate. To protect them, the local authorities have continuously implemented measures such as restoring habitats, setting up monitoring teams, and planting greenery they favor.
