The world's first humanoid robot half-marathon took place in Beijing on Saturday. Over 9,000 amateur runners ran alongside humanoid robots from nearly 20 robotics firms on a 21.0975-kilometer course. The humanoid robot Tiangong Ultra, developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, won the championship in 2 hours, 40 minutes and 42 seconds.
Ren Yawei from the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center told CGTN that its robot only swapped batteries three times during the race.
A shorter humanoid robot, N2, developed by the startup Noetix, finished in second place, while "Xingzhe-2" from the Shanghai-based company DroidUp took the third spot.
