Far-reaching scope for bionic robots to serve Chinese industry

Scores of bionic robots demonstrated their range of capabilities during the recently concluded 8th Digital China Summit in Fuzhou, Fujian Province.

Two robots dressed in traditional Chinese attire gave a cross-talk performance to the audience. A woman interacted with a robot that mimicked her voice and appearance. One robot performed inspection work at an electrical substation, while another sorted food quickly and accurately. All of these newly developed bionic robots were just a few of the more than 100 robots on display, showcasing the achievements of China's bionic robotics industry in recent years.

In terms of AI development, China has played a leading role in the world, said Guo Lei, a professor at Beihang University, and bionic intelligence is a leading trend in China's AI industry. In addition to human bionics, we should also develop in bird and fish bionics to accomplish more advanced missions in the sky and underwater, Guo added.
