China's tourism sector is seeing a strong boost this May Day holiday as new summer-autumn flight routes fuel a surge in domestic and international travel.
From May 1 to 5, the total number of cross-regional passenger trips across the country reached 1.467 billion, averaging 293 million per day, representing an eight percent year-over-year growth.
China's civil aviation sector is expanding its global reach with the launch of numerous new international routes in 2025, reflecting the country's commitment to enhancing its international air network and meeting rising demand for cross-border travel.
According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the 2025 summer-autumn flight season runs from March 30 to October 25.
